Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day (clearly running a little behind-SMH), y’all, and to be quite honest, I don’t even know where January and half of February went. But, hey, it’s gone!
Any who, I wanted to do something really special for Allie this Valentine’s Day. Last Valentine’s Day, she was recovering from surgery and didn’t get to do anything fun.
So, I started thinking about what to do, and let’s face it, with the way the flu is spreading, it had to be something in the comfort of our own home. But that’s good right? ‘Cause then you can wear pajamas.
We decided to try out a fruit pizza bar. I used a roll of sugar cookie dough (becuaseĀ ain’t nobody got time to make their own), strawberries, grapes, strawberry fruit dip, sugar pearls, and cut up Hersey Bar.
Y’all know I am not a morning person, so we prepped everything the night before.
I let Allie roll out the dough and cut out the hearts with cookie cutters. The main piece of advice I have for this is just add a ton of flour to EVERYTHING so that the dough doesn’t stick.
After we finished the prep work for the dough, I changed her pajamas because they were covered in flour and sent her off to bed. I put the cookies on a sheet pan and tossed them in the over. I did this in two batches because I didn’t have enough room on one sheet pan. Keep in mind they will spread out, so leave plenty of room.

I washed and cut the fruit to store in the refridgerator for the night, then set the table. I put out their valentines cookies (because we didn’t already have enough sweets on the table), their Valentine’s gifts, and card stock place mats.
The next morning, I got up before Allie Beth and set it all up!
It wasn’t long before Allie Beth woke up and the fun began. We decorated together. Andie sat in my lap and enjoyed being the “fruit tester,” while me and her sissy made pretty pizzas. Before we finished, Allie Beth had eaten all of the cut up strawberries in the bowl and off of the cookies! Girl, definitely loves her strawberries!
She had the best time with something so cheap and easy that required minimal clean up. You could always use whatever you have in your fridge. Any kind of cookie dough would work for the crust (even homemade ;)). Toppings could be any kind of sprinkles, fruits, candy, and even savory toppings! You could alter this for any holiday/theme and have a fun morning spent with your baby(s).
