Our Final Visit
On August 3, we had a check up with plastic surgery and infectious disease. Plastic Surgery was scheduled for 12:45 and infectious disease at 1:30. Allie’s measurements were as followed:
Head Circumference: 18.9 inches
Height: 33 inches
Weight: 24 pounds
Infectious Disease actually came in first and told us he wasn’t going to put her through blood work today, but that she may need blood work at her immunology appointment in September. Unless any of the aspergillis comes back, at this time we will no longer be followed by infectious disease except for possibly regulating her antifungal medicine.
As we were talking to the ID doctor, the plastics team came in. There was two interns with our usual doctor which kind of put Allie Beth into a bit of panic. Dr. —– was so happy with how it looked, but told her if Allie ever needed reconstructive surgery to let her know. What AllieBeth does after she is an adult is up to her, but unless there are issues with scarring, I do not want her to have to go through the reconstruction process.
Dr. —- told Allie she had a present for her since this was our last visit. She came back with the sweetest little ballerina doll. All of our doctors have been so wonderful! I’m so thankful that this part of the process is over. Now to begin learning about the gene mutation that was found with immunology…
